Im using this intercom in my GXV. Which is a loud truck. I have not road tested it yet but have tested it at an idle static run. So far so good. Cant beat it for the price. Ill review it later after I drive to Flagstaff. I know I wont like all the cables hanging about, but thats a matter of time untill I run them properly.
Update: I have flown with this unit for a year now. The sound quality is as good as any in the GA planes I have flown. The isolation switch does not allow you to hear yourself in your headset when transmitting, which I was a bit disappointed with, but overall a good unit for the price. I would recommend this to others.
I have not used this in flight yet, but it worked great in my living room with my wife. The plate will mount to an area right next to the ashtray in my Cheetah. No complaints.
Overall I was disappointed in this unit and have replaced it. Audio quality wasn't great compared to the PMA 1000II installed in the plane that only has two active inputs. It was functional but had a lot of static background noise whenever the mics were in use. Disconnecting the FLIGHTCOM SR4 expansion unit seem to help but not eliminate this. The unit also has not auto muting functionality so if you're playing music in the aux input it continues to play on top of any radio comms. I have a 2 place intercom in my airplane and this unit didn't work alongside it while plugged into the copilot plugs because I could not hear anyone else talking. I didn't base my rating on this not working as it would have been a nice to have option, not a requirement of the functionality.

The IISX has one input for music and one output for a recorder. It does not have cell ability as you will need a cell phone adapter for your headset.
Yes this is designed to work with GA plugs.
This does not have a PTT on the unit, you would need to use something like part #: 11-07712. This includes the SR-4 expansion module box for the 3rd and 4th jacks.
Yes, this will work with portable intercoms like 11-08710.
