Overview

After precleaning with BONDERITE C-IC 33 AERO, rinse with water. Apply without dilution by brushing or swabbing with sponge. Rinse with water and surface is ready for paint. This is a visible coating which leaves the surface with a golden coloration. The alodized surface provides protection against weather and firmly bonds paint. 1 quart treats about 100 sq. ft. Flammable. Available in quart and gallon sized.

Im not wild about using it, but it does a very good job providing a protective coating to aluminum.

Alodine has been around forever. It is a good product and easy to use. 1201 is the way to go. Cant confirm that the parts are truly covered without being able to see the tint.

Q: What is the useful shelf life of Alodine 1201?

This product has a twelve month shelf life from the day the container is opened, but no longer than 36 months from the date of manufacture.

Q: How many square feet does a gallon of Bondrite M-CR 1201 treat?

Q: Do you apply primer after the 1201 or do you apply paint directly after?

Q: is gold the only tone alodine comes in? Years ago I remember a red tone, still available?

No as purpose of the alumiprep and alodine is the clean and prep the surface so that you can the primer it after the process, even if it is a self etching primer.
