Q: Are any probes included with the JPI EDM-350 Engine Monitoring System?
Yes, the following probes and functions are included:
- EGT - Exhaust Gas Temperature
- CHT - Cylinder Head Temperature
- Included - Probes and Harness
- VDC - Voltage
- CLD - Shock Cooling on "All" Cylinders
- ROP/LOP - Lean Find

Additional functionality is available. Probes and harnesses for these additional functions are sold separately. PDF worksheet located in the Overview must be completed and submitted with order.
Q: Interested in the JPI EDM-350. What is the cost for CHT probes, EGT probes and FF?
CHT and EGT probes are included. Fuel Flow must be ordered separately.
Q: This EDM 350 looks like an interesting system but there is no mention of required senders/probes and their cost. If it only takes the JPI senders used for certified installations then that would double the cost for the complete installation? If it accepts automotive senders than the cost would be much more attractive.
Different probes may work for this system but cannot be guaranteed. All testing was done with JPI probes and harnesses. Please see website for included functions as well as available optional functions.
Q: I was planning on using the Dynon unit, and have already installed their sensor kit. Will this JPI EDM 350 unit work with those sensors?
Different probes may work for this system but cannot be guaranteed. All testing was done with JPI probes and harnesses. We recommend using only JPI probes with the EDM 350. Please see website for included functions as well as available optional functions.
Q: Are probes for oil temp and oil pressure included with the JPI EDM 350?
No, these are available as additional options. EGT and CHT are the only probes that come standard.
Q: To order the fuel flow for the JPI EDM 350, it's confusing, do I have to order a separate transducer, and why do you ask if its for 201 or 231, there is no information anywhere about the fuel flow management to upgrade the 350, not even on JPI web site?
If this is a new install then yes you, will need to order the transducer. If you had a FS 450 and wanted to replace the unit with a EDM 350 you could use the older JPI transducer.
Q: Can the CHT probes be of the gasket type? Id like to install on a C90-16F engine (same basic engine as a C85 & O-200)
How do you specify Gasket CHT probes?
You will need to specify this in the special instructions box when you add this to your cart. You can also specify this in the necessary order form that you send in at time of order.
Q: I have oil temp/pressure, MAP and Amp probes connected to analog gauges. Can these be used with the 350?
No, you can only use JPI probes with the EDM 350.
Q: I know this question has been asked more than once, but just to be clear, the basic unit comes with the appropriate number of EGT and CHT probes, correct? 4 cyl unit has 4 of each and 6 cyl unit has 6 of each?
Yes, that is correct.
Q: What is the difference between the JPI EDM 350 basic package and the the full package?
The difference between the basic and the full packages are the functions that are included.
Basic includes: RPM+EGT/CHT Bar Graph, Fuel Flow, Volts, OAT, Flight & Tach timer and Local & Zulu time.
Premium includes: RPM + 5 add'l Primary Functions, AND up to 5 non-primary functions, that can be displayed on a secondary page.
Q: Can the JPI EDM 350 be programmed for 1 master 25gal. fuel tank an 2 aux. 10gal.?
Yes, it can be.
Q: What is included in Full Package the JPI EDM-350 Engine Monitoring System?
Full comes with the added P5 connector) on the back of the unit and has the capability of AMPS1, fuel pressure, fuel level/tanks, and volt2.
Q: Can this JPI EDM 350 unit accommodate 3 fuel tanks?
No. This unit can accommodate up to 2 fuel tanks.
Q: Hi! I have JPI EDM 350 for Cessna-172. What (p/n) fuel flow sensor will suit me?
The EDM 350 is designed for experimental aircraft installations only. This is not meant for certified aircraft install.
Q: If i got the EDM 350 basic package, what does it take to upgrade to more functions later?
You can purchase the additional functions and install the probes with the exception of the Fuel functions. The unit will need to go back to JPI for programming.
Q: What comes in the box with the JPI EDM 350 basic? full package?
The basic package includes.Yes, the following probes and functions are included:
- EGT - Exhaust Gas Temperature
- CHT - Cylinder Head Temperature
- Included - Probes and Harness
- VDC - Voltage
- CLD - Shock Cooling on "All" Cylinders
- ROP/LOP - Lean Find
- DIFF - Engine Health
- USB - Data Port built in
- Data Record - 600 Hrs. at every 6 sec
- EZTrends - Graphing software, including Google Earth Location
The full package includes all of the above plus the P5 - has the capability of AMPS1, fuel pressure, fuel level/tanks, and volt2.
Q: For % HP it says OAT must be hooked up so will the OAT probe from the GAD13 work with this or will this OAT probe work with the GAD13?
No, this will require its own independent OAT probe, which is included when you purchase the OAT option.
Q: Will this JPI EDM 350 unit track tach time?
Yes, per the manufacturer installation manual REV-IR will track tach time.
Q: Will there be a certified version of the EDM 350?
At this time there is no certified version of the EDM 350 in planning or production.
Q: OK the basic package shows to include the voltage monitoring per the Q&A below, however, the voltage/amp monitoring shows to be an option. I just ordered the basic package CHT/EGT but also need the voltage monitoring. I ordered the voltage option, also, did I need it?
You will still need to add the option, as the full package only unlocks the feature, you will need to add 10-07085 in order to get the sender for Amps.
Q: What do I need to get for Fuel Flow capability to a gravity fed carb?
You will need to order the full package version p/n: 10-06845 and add p/n: 11-16243 Fuel flow for pressure carb system.
Q: Is the tach feature on JPI EDM 350 compatable with an e-mag p model?
Yes, this can work with an electronic magneto.
Q: Can this JPI EDM 350 unit monitor fuel level for L R and Aux?
You would have to get the full package to add fuel level, but it can only track two tanks.
Q: What does P5 mean in the full package description?
The P5 is a connect that comes on the full package system that allows for more options.
Q: I read that the basic package comes with EGT and CHT probes. Question remaining: How many of the CHT probes and how many of the EGT probes are included? Also, what is the type of CHT probe? bayonet, thread into the cylinder head, of washer? P/N would help clarify that. Thanks.
For example: Part # 10-06582 is for 4 cylinder engine. This will come with 4 each of cht and egt probes. The CHT probes will be bayonet style. Probe part #'s are M-111 (EGT probes) and 5050 (CHT probes).
Q: Can I use a JPI EDM 350 for RPM and other gauge functions, but for the time being, without EGT/CHT? I have a serviceable system for those. Will the screen be fully customizable without space reserved for EGT/CHT?
EDM 350 is experimental only. EGT/CHT is standard, cannot remove EGT/CHT. RPM is a special order add-on.
Q: How do you find and order the extra functions for the EDM350. I want the Basic package with RPM and Manifold Pressure, I cannot find the options to order and pay for them.
Once you add the main package to the cart, there will be a slide in selection area to choose the additional options you would like to add.
Q: For % HP On a carburetor engine O360, do I need to install a MAP? or just RPM and OAT is fine?
For %HP, you will need fuel flow, outside air temp, rpm and map.
Q: Does the EGT/CHT have a normalize function to where it equalizes and zooms into bar graph temps to be able to closely monitor CHT/EGT
Yes, the EGT/CHT has a normalized function like the 700 and 800 series.
Q: does the 350 is the same plug and harness then the old 700?
Yes, The 350 and 700 have the same plug.
Q: How long are the wires to the probes?
The harness is 8.5 feet.
