No, you will not have to wait for the old monitor to be received.
Per the manufacturer, the upgrade from a G3 to a G4 is a head only upgrade.

If you have fuel flow already a probe will not be necessary. If a fuel flow probe is needed yes it will be extra cost. The upgrade form will also be necessary.
