Original 2.8 x 2.5 -4 4 ply tire had only 1/8” clearance between at top of tire and fork. This Aero 2.8 x 2,5 -4 ply tire is slightly smaller and provides 1 /4” clearance. Perfect!
On time, On target!
This tire is made in China. But it’s the only one I they carried in this size. Will look for alternative.
Aero Classic TirE280-250-4 4Pl
Same problem with two tires installed as front tires of amphib floatplane. Cracks all around after short 2 years on plane.
Made in China junk. Cracks all the way around the sidewall in less than 1 year, stored inside.
I purchased this tire in 2014 for about $42. This tire developed large cracks that ran around the entire diameter of the tire after less than one year of installation on a glider. I have sent photos to Aircraft Spruce. The tire is made in China and its cost is over $50 for an 250X4 tire. I will email photos to anyone who would like to see the quality of this tire. I do not recommend this tire be used for any purpose, especially aviation. arlanhenderson@gmail.com
