Mfg test reports are available for an additional charge per line item. Thicknesses of .016", .020", .025", & .032" can be rolled to ship UPS, but will not be returnable if rolled. The softer and thicker the material, the harder it will be to return to a flat surface. |
Service was prompt considering the pandemic lockdown. Product was as expected. No damage. I and my flying friends use the Brantford location all the time. No complaints.
MATERIAL WAS ON TIME AND GREAT PACK.
Sheet of aluminum was packaged perfectly, no damage.
I needed a small piece of flat alum. The smallest piece available was 2x2. 1x1 would have been more than enough. Need to sale smaller pieces.
Two small hiccups with the order. First, the shipping was delayed by 24 hours as apparently the phone lines were down on the East coast on the scheduled shipping day. Second, even though both items were shown as available when I placed the order, the shipping note showed that one was back ordered. The agent that I spoke to about the backorder was super-helpful and agreed to prepay the second shipping charge. The order was just delivered this morning, and I was amazed at how well it was packaged. This was a 2’ x 2’ x 0.040” sheet of aluminum and it arrived in perfect condition. Of course, things will occasionally go wrong with any mail order, but the sign of a good company is how well the situation is recovered. Aircraft Spruce did a great job - thank you
Perfect, nice protective film to keep the metal like new. Shipping was really fast and packaged perfectly
Purchased several 2x2 sheets. Quick processing and shipping, and received in just a couple of days from the order date. Packing great, edges well protected if that is of concern. In general the sheets arrive with no mars having the standard protective film on both sides.
Really fast shipping. I dont know if it was UPS or whoever but two of the corners were rolled over. I should still be able to use as I dont need the full pieces at the moment. They appeared to be wrapped well so not sure. Wont stop me ordering from AS, that is for sure.
I ordered two 4x8 sheets. Customer service called and said they only had one, and two 4x4 pieces. I said that would be okay. It appears those sizes cant be rolled together for shipping. Stacking the smaller pieces, then rolling them up in the big sheet kinked it all up pretty well. Its causing a lot of extra work and waste. Lesson: only roll same sizes together.
I was disappointed that the aluminum was scratched under the plastic coating. The coating itself was not cut, so it must have been applied after the aluminum was scratched. This is not the first time Ive received aluminum from Aircraft Spruce that had scratches under the plastic coating. The problem is made worse by the scratches only being visible after the plastic is removed, which often doesnt happen until the aluminum has been cut, bent and installed. One sheet also had a slight ripple running its length that looked like a manufacturing defect. It too was only visible after the plastic was removed. Aircraft Spruce has ordered replacement sheets for me, but they havent come in yet.
