Rotax® Engine Bing Carburetor Upgraded Replacement Float Set of Two - MS80-430. These solid, one-piece blue epoxy floats will not leak, absorb fuel or break apart like the micro-bubble foam float competitors. These floats can withstand extreme temperature changes and are truly unsinkable when exposed to the elements! The Marvel Schebler MS80-430 blue floats are direct replacements for the existing Bing floats P/N 861-184. |
The guide hole on these set of floats are too small and do not float freely in the carb bowl. Beware. I have another set ordered at the same time that worked well.
MS80-430 Float Kit For Bing Carberetor/Rotax (2 Floats Per Kit)
I got these on recommendation from others on their durability. Rotax has had far too many recalls on their various renditions -- all of which sink in short order.

Exelent product expensive but is worth it
MS80-430 Float Kit For Bing Carberetor/Rotax (2 Floats Per Kit)
After going through 3 sets of BIng floats in less than 3 years, I decided to give these a go. Installed in November 2020, now in June of 2022 they still weigh exactly the same 5.8 g per pair.
nice

MS80-430 Float Kit For Bing Carberetor/Rotax (2 Floats Per Kit)
My legacy Rotax/Bing floats joined the sinker club recently, not wanting to continue with the same old tale of factory floats not holding up, and one more manufacturing change / supplier move / service bulletin / who knows what for this critical component - I bought these. Individual & pair weights are great (~5.5 -5.6 grams for the pair). For more info on tips on installing these I made a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTXIGjHwPDo
Ordered March 17, 2021. Received the updated design (as shown in product image) with pyramid shape to top. This is lighter than the original design, the two pair I received check ~ 5.5 to 5.6g per set. For the price of Rotax / Bing factory floats, and the track record of service bulletins and floats becoming heavy over time, I think these make sense for experimental category 912 engines.
This seems to be a fine product. However, delivery proved to be a bit of a challenge. I had to contact Marvel-Schebler directly and ask to have the parts drop shipped since Aircraft Spruce had back ordered the parts. Marvel-Schebler was most helpful and the parts were shipped the same day.

Per the manufacturer: The MS80-430 blue floats are direct replacements for the existing Bing floats P/N 861-184. We do not believe they are appropriate for use with all Bing carbs.
The label of current stock is showing these as 2.8 grams each.
2 floats per kit.
