Overview

T1A3-4 Tach Sending Unit.

Reviews

Installed the UMA tach sender to provide an RPM input to a Dynon EMS after replacing the magneto with a Surefly ignition. I never considered the previous P-lead derived RPM indication to be jerky, however with the UMA sender in place there is now a noticeable smoothness and fluidity to the RPM indication. Very happy.

Perfect match for the Garmin G3X. The sender swivels making it very user friendly in tight installations . The lead does require soldering .

This tach sending unit can be used with any unit that can work within specs below: Input voltage (+VSS) range is +5 to +28 volts DC, current draw 10mA. Output - square wave +5 to +VSS, 4 pulses per tang revolution, Impedance is 2.7K ohm. Since ratio between the engine and mechanical port is 2:1, digital reader have to be set to 2 pulse per rev.

Q: Can the UMA Magnetic Tach sending unit be used directly with MVP-50P?

As these products are both manufactured by different companies, neither has provided information regarding compatibility.

Q: I removed a faulty tach sender with 3 wires that was connected to the side of my left Slick mag. How many wires are on this tach sender and will it be a simple three wire hookup to my existing wire harness to feed the rpm to my EFIS. My EFIS is set up for 2 pulses per revolution already.

This comes with a cannon plug that you would use to make a harness. The plug has 4 connectors but the wiring diagram notes that you would use only 3.
