The RedBaron Mini™ is a cousin to the RedBaronXP™, the world's smallest and brightest total coverage LED anticollision light. The new RedBaron Mini™ resulted from requests by high-performance racing aircraft, super lightweight UAVs in the defense industry, and aircraft/helicopter manufacturers who wanted an upper and lower anti-collision light due to mounting area constraints. The answer came in this incredible new light, only 27 mm high and only 110 grams in weight. Exceeding all TSO intensity requirements and all DO-160F environmental requirements, the RedBaron Mini™ is now the world's smallest anti-collision light. Amp draw is 0.375 amps (1.85 amps peak) For Experimental Use Only |
Recently installed this item and have only flown aircraft once since installed. Light is awesome in every aspect. It appears to be a high-quality product and the intensity is awesome. So far so good but its still brand new. Well see how it holds up!
Aveo Red Baron Mini LED Light White Ave-Rbmpw-00
This LED is REALLY BRIGHT! Even during the day!
I have had this light on my RV7 for three years now. I get great feedback on how bright this light is. It's the best light on my plane!
Installing this on a Cessna 182 fin top (via field approval) which has a pretty narrow top and lends itself to this mini light vs the standard 2.52 diameter beacons. Its absolutely ridiculous that the FAA has not given blanket approval for all these modern LED lights which are far brighter and infinitely more reliable and long lasting than legacy incandescent lighting. The FAA is sacrificing safety in the name of safety of certification which is the ultimate irony but I digress. (if the beacon fails you are not coming out of the sky). Be aware you will likely have to fabricate a custom base adaptor to mount it where your old beacon was. Also beware the dimensions given in the technical document PDFs are not correct. This is not the fault of Spruce but rather outdated factory specs included on the catalog page. The Diameter is 2.283 not 2.220. The Height is 1.300 not 1.063 Also very annoying is the fact they are too cheap to include the recommended M5X45 mounting cap screw which has a DIN 7984 standard. This means it has a low profile head. A garden variety cap screw head will protrude above the light. These cap screws are not that expensive but are hard to find. Spruce does not carry them nor does Lowes. Amazon is your friend.

No, this is for experimental aircraft only. The Aveo Galactica series are the only Aveo units that are certified at this time.
It does not come with any mounting hardware. You will need 3 screws.
