Delta Zulu is built for your mission with safety, control, and comfort in mind. The newest headset from Lightspeed includes their best ANR to date, with the superior comfort and durability you expect from a Zulu, while also introducing groundbreaking new technologies that could save the lives of both
pilots and passengers. SAFETY Lightspeed’s designers and engineers collaborated with a team of highly qualified flight and safety experts to develop a revolutionary digital platform and groundbreaking new technologies to make flying safer. Kanari™ smart alert technology built right into the headset provides protection by measuring cabin carbon monoxide levels, helping to keep you and your passengers alert and safe with audible warnings. The free Lightspeed App allows you to also check the CO sensor data visually during flight and review your full history later. The Delta Zulu also introduces a built-in audio equalization system called HearingEQity™ that ensures crystal clear flight communication. Through an automated 12-frequency hearing test that can be taken through the Lightspeed App, HearingEQity sets the hearing level in each ear of your headset to create your individual hearing profile to compensate for any hearing variations between ears. CONTROL The Lightspeed App also allows you to record radio conversations, playback transmissions, draw diagrams, and archive flight recordings for post-flight briefing and training. Delta Zulu is also the first headset to adopt the UAC plug, allowing you to connect to other devices directly from the headset for charging, data communications, and auxiliary audio. COMFORT The legendary Zulu comfort and durability continues in the Delta Zulu. Performance ear seals, sturdy cables built around a Kevlar core, full Bluetooth integration, and an industry-best 7-year warranty are still standard in the newest Lightspeed model. |
Pretty good headsets, like the recharchable battery pack. And the free one I am supposed to be getting from light speed in several weeks. not fond of the music volume being slightly turned down automatically every time someone talks on the radio, Im sure there is a way to turn that feature off, but I have not found it yet. Much happier with these than my BOSE proflights

These are the Absolute Best... You get what you pay for... Being Hearing impaired, I can hear out of them 10 times better with Perfect Clarity... Much better than my Hearing Aids by far! These are worth every penny of it... I have had mine since the first day they were released and no regrets... If you are hearing impaired in anyway, you can customize the sound to where you will hear better... This is the Best headset ever released, and 10 times better than any Bose ever made!
Purchased at Oshkosh 2023 and used on return flight back to Utah. Like the benefits of fine tuning the sound which assists my aging hearing. Didnt specifically buy for the CO2 monitoring but useful and a good add. Minor issue with accessing the Lightspeed app was quickly resolved by Lightspeeds tech staff. All in all Im impressed with the headset and glad I upgraded from an older A20.

I can say first hand, owning this unit, I can hear better with them than I can with my Hearing aids. This headset is worth every bit of the asking price and more if you are hearing impaired. I calibrated them to my hearing via the App... I can hear better with them than my hearing aids and by a long shot. Mentioned this to my Audiologist, and he said he was not surprised! I would buy this unit again without a 2nd blink.. Highly Recommend, especially if you wear hearing aids.
These do not seal well and have a lot of bouncing. Lightspeed offers taller padding for free but really did not solve the problem, especially if you wear a hat and sunglasses.
I bought this to upgrade from a Zulu 3 that Ive loved for many years. The general build quality is good and the ANR seems to be a little better than the Zulu 3. Other than that, Im pretty disappointed. The app is needed in order to make use of a number of features, and it is not available on Android. Since Im an android user thats important, but its not indicated anywhere that its Apple-only. The connector for the charger is USB, but its a very, very rare type of USB connector used on a few cameras. You will not be able to charge it with any typical USB cables. Not only that, the connector is part of the headset control, so you cannot charge a pack separate from the headset, you can only charge through the headset. And when you do charge it, theres no indication that it is charging, or is done, except through the app. Not even a status LED to indicate that its plugged in. Unlinke the Zulu 3, the green light that indicates that the unit is on and the ANR is working is very difficult to see. Ive turned it off several times trying to turn it on because I couldnt tell that the light was blinking. The manual talks about having to adjust the mic gain due to popping. Mine does this, Ive adjusted it, but its very annoying on the ground if theres any ventilation blowing near the mic. I was looking forward to this being an upgrade, but I really like the Zulu 3 a lot better. The user design of this one just seems to be a big step backward to me.
Mic boom is too short. Lightspeed said that theyve received several complaints about this. No fix in sight so far.

The life of the CO sensor is 10 years, after which it can be factory refurbished.
The charge from the battery pack will last an estimated 30 hours of flight, and the include AA-battery pack will add an additional 15 to 20 hours of backup life.
Bluetooth: Bluetooth wireless technology with A2DP technology enables cell phone communications and stereo music streaming along with alerts from aviation apps.
If the iPad has functioning Bluetooth, it will connect. It is our belief all iPad models have Bluetooth capability.
For the 6-pin Lemo version, please order Part# 11-19332. It is selectable on this web page.
The ear seals are the same, Lightspeed recommends changing them every 18months. 30 hours on the rechargeable battery and 15-20 on the back up AA pack.
No, these can only be worn with the mic on the left side.
It powers on when the panel is powered on and turns off with the panel.
Please note, the Lightspeed App is NOT REQUIRED to use the Delta Zulu ANR headset. For primary Android device users, please note that an iOS device is only needed to set up your HearingEQity profile along with CO preferences and PPM setting for the first time accessing the Lightspeed App. You may use an iPhone or an iPad or other similar Apple device. Your personalized hearing profile and CO alert preferences will be saved in your headset after you complete the set up process, eliminating the need to have an iOS device for future use with your Delta Zulu.
Please note that while some additional convenience functions on the App will not be available without regular access to an iOS device, the important Safety features of Delta Zulu are stored in the headset itself. Once set up, they will automatically deliver improved flying safety.
The main differences between the two headsets are the color of the ear cups and the additional features on the Delta Zulu including integrated carbon monoxide detector, improved audio customization for user audio profile, and a rechargeable lithium ion battery pack.
