The Model E5 High Voltage Cable Tester tests Hi-Voltage aircraft engine ignition cables quickly and accurately. And it's incredibly easy to use: simply connect the three wires, push the test button and check the test window. That's all there is to it. By simulating the magneto's high output voltage, the E5 instantly identifies both good and defective cables. And it operates on either 12 or 24 volts,D.C. The E5 eliminates guess work, saves valuable time, is equipped with an audio high voltage indicator to ensure safety and is 100% dependable. And no other high quality cable tester is as attractively priced. |
Does exactly what it’s supposed too. Saved me hundreds on buying cables I didn’t need since I could identify the one bad wire.

I have a mobile aircraft service van and I bought the E5a High Voltage cable tester. Was in my vehicle’s toolbox for ma ny months. The first time I tried to use it did not work. I can hear loose parts inside the unit. After opening it I found the plastic, holding the contact points came off. I put it back and I noticed the 2Amp fuse was blown do to the points not being in place. Could the vibration from my van got those screws loose or were no properly secure in the first place.
A must have for any mechanic, easy to use. great quality

The power source does not have to be the aircraft battery. 12/24 volts are required to test, but it can be from an alternate power source.
