Skylock is an inexpensive throttle lock for aircraft with Cessna type push-pull throttles. The device will accept shafts up to .375" diameter, and is made of heavy-gauge cadmium plated steel. Skylock affords great peace of mind to aircraft owners at very little cost. Just put in place after every flight, secure with your own favorite padlock, and your throttle cannot be moved! Simple, but it works. |
Throttle lock fits great.

Simple and practical.
Airlock Throttle Lock
My throttle has a screw-on round knob - a thief could easily remove the knob then take the lock off. I will probably cut off the rectangular end, and use the rest to lock the mixture, which is a verneer.

I have the ElectroAir EIS switch panel replacing my key magneto / start switch, so use this for aircraft security when I travel and park outside a hangar. It works perfectly with a combination lock on my Cardinal RG.
We have 4 of these for club Cessna 172S aircraft. Needed to comply with NJ two lock rule for planes locked outside and with ElectroAirElectronic ignitions that replace key start with rocker switches.
Works great! I painted mine bright red and bought a small pad-lock for it.
Bought it for my 1966 Cessna 150 - fits perfectly - I love it
Works great, I used a number dial padlock, also have another one with a keyed hitch pin. Dont like that setup as well as the numbered one.
I was able to make this work on my Mooney vernier throttle. My throttle knob doesn’t have the extended plastic along the shaft like the prop and mixture controls and this lock fit with the vernier button slightly depressed. I did have to elongate the pad lock shank hole for my lock to fit but this only took a few minutes with a file. The shank holes were misaligned by about 0.15” and this added to the reshaping task. The misalignment is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. I’m very happy with being able to use this in an application other than intended with little modification. I’ve not been able to find any other device costing less than $300 that does the same thing.

These weigh approximately 0.4 lbs each.
No. These do not work on vernier controls. You would have to use the ACS Products Lock p/n 13-08000.
This actually goes on the shaft behind the knob and will accept shafts up to .375" diameter.
