Overview

The Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station is a research-grade weather station that provides professional-grade data for weather enthusiasts, researchers, growers, and weather professionals. It reports real-time wind speeds up to 200 mph, temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, rainfall and other information such as heat index, dew point, highs and lows, and much more. The sensor suite has a detachable anemometer for flexible siting. The outside temperature and humidity sensors are housed in a 24-hour Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield for maximum accuracy. Users have the option to retrospectively add a Solar Radiation Sensor (#6450) and/or a UV Sensor (#6490).

Vantage Pro2 sensors are NIST-traceable and are suitable for professional weather data reporting.

The WeatherLink Console is basically a WeatherLink Live with a colour touchscreen. You can use it just as a screen, or sign up for a free WeatherLink account and view the live data on the website and mobile app. And you can upgrade to a Pro subscription for historical data. It can receive from up to 8 transmitters, and needs power – the battery will last less than a day. Also, be aware the transmission range is more limited than the old consoles at only 30 to 50m. USB plug pack and backup batteries not included.

Features

  • Please note, not every application needs a Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield. They are most useful when wind speeds are low and skies are clear. It is important to note that critical maintenance is required at least monthly on the fan and associated screens to ensure continued functionality.
  • You will need to supply your own CR-123A 3-volt lithium backup battery for the ISS.
  • You will need to supply your own USB power adapter with 5VDC output at 1.0A, as well as 4 x AA batteries for the WeatherLink Console. Most modern power boards come with a 1.5-3A USB slot that regulates to the device plugged into it.
