It was while flying the triplane that the top-scoring fighter pilot of the War, Manfred von Richthofen ("The Red Barron") met his death. In August 1917, the first made Fokker aircrafts were brought to Jagdgeschwader I. It was led by Manfred Von Richtonfen. He destroyed a British R.E. 8 in September 1, 1917 when he made his first kill. |
