Stainless Steel Automatic Center Punch
If you ever use a punch before you drill in any metal, you MUST GET ONE OF THESE! I have seen these
This is a replacement for the same model punch I bout a year or so ago. I have a fifty year old version of this. Works great. But during an airplane build, I seem to misplace items. A second one helps. And the bright color helps. (My other one is gun barrel blued). Trouble is, the new one broke after a couple hundred hours of my build. The striker is held in place by a cir-clip which failed. A penny part failure made the punch almost useless. The 50 year old model is still punching.
Failed to punch after about 20 punches. Apparently you have to keep polishing a component inside the punch. Very Inconvenient.
Stainless Steel Automatic Center Punch
Barely functional. Seems sloppy chinese made. Works about half the time if that. Junk. Won’t buy again or recommend Joe
Failed after a few punches. no longer punches and is going to the trash.

This will all depend on how thick the steel is and how big of a mark you would like to make.
