Just finished installing the cabin door seal and the cargo door seal. So far I seem to have a much improved and quieter seal compared to the at least 25 year old door seals that I inherited. Cleaning off the old rubber and the old sealant is by far the most tedious part of the job. Denatured alcohol and a small brass brush was the key for me to get a clean surface before putting on the new sealant and then installing the new seal. The cabin door is relatively easy to remove and having it lying protected on the floor made for a more comfortable way to do that seal removal and replacement. I didnt try to remove the cargo door so it was a more awkward job. I needed to loosen the latch mechanism to close the cabin door the first time after installing the seal. I also had to trim the seal to not interfere with the latch. I hope to be able to readjust the latch as the seal compresses. p.s. This is a job best done during warm weather as the seals need 59 f or above to conform to the fully closed position.
Installed this seal on my ‘98 Saratoga II HP. Excellent product! Mine was an exact replacement to the original Piper seal in all regards.
