Q: Does this skyBeacon use the 1090mhz or the 978mhz?
978mhz
Q: Will an AV-30-E work to control this instead of a transponder on an experimental?
Unfortunately, the UAX-90032-01 is the SkyBeacon TSO and being that it is 978 UAT ADS-B OUT, it is specifically designed to operate with an existing Mode C Transponder, so one is required to be compliant in the US. The AV-30-E can be the control head for the tailBeaconX as it is the Mode S transponder with 1090ES out.
