This book is a culmination of over 45 years of experience working on and maintaining all types of Van's RV aircraft. It should be the ultimate reference guide for you or your mechanic to inspect and maintain the aircraft throughout its life. Using the checklist and accompanying pictures will be almost as good as having the author working over your shoulder. This book contains 151 pages and 443 pictures. It is spiral bound to enhance use in the shop. The purchaser will be able to see the issue and how to repair it. It is essential for Van's RV and Lycoming piston engine owners who do their own maintenance. This Maintenance Handbook is recommended over Vic's Are Your Nuts tight inspection Guide if you plan to maintain your Amateur-Built aircraft. |
Vics book is a must have for any RV owner!
Maintenance Guide For Vans RV Aircraft
As a non-builder owner, this is an excellent resource to have. Add in his other guide Are your nuts tight and you have a good baseline maintenance library for RV products.

Maintenance Guide For Vans RV Aircraft
Over the years of building an RV-8 I have learned a lot about construction methods. Now, as I am nearing first flight I need to learn about maintaining my aircraft. Vic’s new book fills a lot of the bill. How do I change tires? While it’s messy it is straightforward. Replacing the cam shaft? Probably not something I will do, but I now understand more about diagnosing a worn cam. I will use this as a guide for my first condition guidance.
Maintenance Guide For Vans RV Aircraft
Great for older RVs and Lycoming engines, hardly any reference to Rotax installations and nothing on the Rotax engine. Quite disappointed as most of the RVs I see are Rotax equipped.
