E-Z Heat Aircraft Engine heater for the Model 360- 5" dia circle X 1/32" pad. Can only be used on round kidney shaped oil sumps.
Note: Please see "Engine Application Guide" Click Here for the correct EZ Heat model number for your application. Preheating engines for winter operations is at best a miserable chore and at worst can be a disaster for the plane, the pilot & flight operations - until the development of the E-Z Heat Aircraft Engine Heater. The E-Z Heat was designed to provide very efficient engine heating for virtually all propeller driven aircraft. The heaters consist of a flexible synthetic pad that easily conforms to the contours of the oil pan. This pad will heat 12 qts of oil from -40° to +60°F in an hour while using approximately 300 watts of electricity. The heater is 1/32" thick. which enables the immediate heat transfer from heater to engine. The heaters are thermostatically controlled, so leaving them plugged in overnight means the plane will be ready to go in the morning. Normally, complete pre-heating takes only 3-5 hours for the entire engine to be nice and warm. With this new lighted plug (120V models only, 220V models include no plug to allow for European outlet variance), the owner simply needs to look out the window or peek in the hangar to see if they remembered to plug in their E-Z Heat engine pre-heater. Molded into the male plug end is a newly designed light emitting diode (LED). This LED allows the operator to visually recognize if there is electrical power to the preheat system even from a distance. FAA approved for certificated aircraft. End your cold weather starting problems and reduce premature engine wear. |
Unfortunately, after glueing it to my oil sump, heating pad was defective and didn’t heat up. I’m in the process of returning it for a replacement. Hopefully the next one will work. I’m sure it is just a fluke as I’ve received many good reviews from others that have them on their planes. We will see….

Preparation is key! Make sure oil sump is clean, and plan out your application before pulling back the paper. Follow manufacturer directions and all should go well. Used one of the zip tie cut off “tails” as a tool to apply RTV to gap between electric block and tank. This made a good seal all the way around, and so far heater is working well.
E-Z Heat Engine Heater 360 110V/120V
I have used EZ heaters on every plan I have owned. This one was for my Cub. It works fantastic. I turn it on with a remote switch 4 hours before I fly and the oil is at 80F with the chill take off the entire engine.

The fit was good but you need to bend the shape into the heating pad before applying it on the oil tank.
E-Z Heat Engine Heater 360 110V/120V
Installed on my A36 Bonanza 20 years ago, Works perfect I put a timer on it to come on 4 hours before flight when in hanger , has saved countless hours off my warm-up time waiting to takeoff, I would highly recommend
Difficult to install Failled shortly after instalation. Manufactured replaced it. Returned it to aircraft spruce for full credit. The company stand behind their product and Aircraft Spruce are a great company to deal with
E-Z Heat Engine Heater 360 110V/120V
Once it sticks, it stays no way to remove and reposition. Doesnt wrap around the tight curves at the ends of the O-200 kidney sump very well. Stick on the flatest place possible. Gets hot VERY quick and will without a doubt preheat the engine
E-Z Heat Engine Heater 360 110V/120V
Fairly EZ installation on O-200. Prep your surfaces well, plan steps, and importantly remove as many obstructions to the area as possible so you can do good work. Note - don’t bend the heater the foil adhesive will crease making installation harder. Also plan to put the electrical connection on the flattest part of the sump. It took a little bit of work to get it to adhere under the corners of the block, wish they had tapered the silicone block, but still can be done well.
Seems like a nice product, straight forward install, but it got 3 stars because the tube of high temp silicone sealant that came with it was dried up and hard.
E-Z Heat Engine Heater 360 110V/120V
Using this heater on an 0-200 for my C150. The cylindrical oil tank which this heater is meant for does not allow the bulky square tab to stick to the tank, there’s a gap So it doesn’t get a good seal and will not work effectively
