MATCO mfg's MCMC-7 master cylinder uses a INTERNAL reservoir. The MCMC-7 can be used in individual or dual brake applications. Buna-n orings are used in this assembly. Mil-H-5606 aircraft hydraulic fluid or compatible fluids are reccomended. DOT5 may be used but not DOT5.1 which contains glycol. DOT3 and DOT4 may not be used and will cause immediate damage to the seals. The MC-7 hand operated master cylinder is designed to be stick mounted. This product features a small internal vented reservoir that allows the hydraulic system to self-adjust. The MC-7 must be mounted vertically. This unit replaces the MC-6 which did not self adjust and required dismounting from the control stick for bleeding. The MC-7 is designed to be serviced and bled in the installed position. It is black anodized and uses 1/8 inch NPT fittings. Like all MATCO mfg master cylinders, this system uses Mil-H-5606 hydraulic fluid |
Good quality. Easy to bleed. Perfect addition to my Sonex with a center stick.
Matco M-7 Master Cylinder
This master cylinder works well. I made the mistake of using 125 psi air line instead of proper brake line which gave unsatisfactory results. The tech department at Matco was EXCELLENT! They helped me trouble shoot, my emails were answered very promptly. Make sure you use proper brake line with this cylinder as it develops up to 600 psi.
My Light Sport came with a hand operated master cylinder. I had nothing but trouble with it. If I left my plane in the sun on a warm day, the heat would build internal pressure in the brake system, and the brakes would drag. I read about this master cylinder on Aircraft Spruce, and decided to give it a try. The internal venting feature allows for absolutely no pressure build up. My braking system has never worked so well. I highly recommend this master cylinder!
Wrong part for a SeaRey! It has the same part# but its too long and not setup for an external reservoir. The part # was superceded by #MC-10 by MATCO...

Matco calls for a 1" diameter tube / stick for the unit to attach to.
No, this does not include the parking brake position valve. This would be P/N# 06-01267 (See Accessories).
Part # 06-03001 is made for the MC-7.
