FAA PMA Approved low profile aluminum oil drain valve for Lycoming engines. Designed to fit in applications where there would be an interference from landing gear operations, hoses, and other objects preventing the use of an oil Drain valve and operation of draining oil. These components are anodized for corrosion protection. This valve does not include hose & clamps. Application: Lycoming Curtis Superior Valve is experienced in valve design and can help solve your valve problems. In most cases a standard Curtis Superior Valve will do the job. I had to mill out the grooves the drain plunger uses to twist and lock in drain position. As received from retailer the grooves would not allow plunger to lock in open position. Additionally, this valve is not as low profile as it could be. With all little design thought it could be reduced in size (bulk) and lowered in profile.
