Simple but precise synchronisation by direct comparison of a set of carbs or throttle valves. The compact design and solid state electronics make the CarbMate very durable & resistant against nasty shocks & knocks. CarbMate displays the difference in vacuum intake settings of two linked carburettors very precisely on a single transverse "East-West" 9 LED display. Visual estimation errors, common to the traditional approach which is to visually compare the individual values on separate columns of mercury or dial gauges, are eliminated, as two pressures are compared and one value is displayed. A ZERO adjustment knob provides easy & quick pre-calibration prior to synchronizing. Without any tubes connected, adjust the knob until the centre LED is on. The optional adaptor is designed specifically for use with Rotax engines for hooking your CarbMate to a 2 stroke Rotax Aircraft Engine. The 2 x hoses are both 6 feet long. The connection points to each carburetor are easily made at the crossover tube between the two intake manifolds (separating the carbs during synchronization). When one side of the crossover tube is removed, you are left with a male elbow and a female hose. The inside diameter of the hose is 11mm or 7/16” This way, one carb is hooked to the CarbMate at the elbow on the intake manifold, and the other carb is hooked up at the hose on the compensating tube which is hooked to the other intake manifold. KIT INCLUDES: CarbMate with Rotax adapter, nylon case & rubber holster. |
Excellent very accurate
Carbmate With Rotax Accessory Kit
Just as advertised
Carbmate With Rotax Accessory Kit
Excellent product. Much more precise than the older gauges. Easy to use. Makes synchronization quick and correct.
High quality product made in the United States and very easy to use. Would highly recommend using this product. Brent Presser
As other reviews have indicated, the fittings that come with the kit will not fit your 912 cross over tube. Plan on making a trip to the hardware store to buy fittings that will work. That being said, the Carbmate makes balancing your carbs much easier than using two vacuum gauges.
Havent used it yet but looks fine
I purchased complete kit. Worked well. Simple to use. The engine ran much smoother after balance. Fancy carry bag was probably not required unless unit used frequently. I just wish I had bought it in Canada, since its made here
The rotax kit consists of 2 10 dollar rubber hoses and some brass fittings for $60. The fittings were the wrong size for my cross over pipe.
The Rotax accessory kit is useless as delivered. My 912UL balance pipe is 12mm (approx 7/16). The supplied barb connector is 3/8, which rattles around inside the 12mm hose. Apparently nobody makes 7/16 hose barbs, and a 1/2 barb is too big. I had to buy some 3/8 fuel hose to fit the barb and disconnect both ends of the balance pipe, as the 3/8 hose will stretch to fit over the manifold vacuum elbow. The carbmate instructions do not say whether the +/- leds mean high vacuum or high manifold pressure. You have to figure that out for yourself.

This part is designed for use with a 912 or 914 engine. It will also work with two stroke engines.
