MFR Model# 550050836

Overview

Shell Oil W80 Plus introduces the anti-wear and anti-corrosion additives of AeroShell W100 Plus engine oil into a lighter, single-grade oil for use in colder climates. The anti-wear additive reduces wear on start-up by forming a microscopic layer on the engine's moving parts to prevent metal-to-metal contract when there is little oil present. Combined with a corrosion inhibitor, it is designed for pilots who fly either in cooler weather or less frequently.

I am not qualified to give a rating do to the fact it would require disassembly of the engine by an engine shop. I would like to hear engine shop reviews. Thank you

What can you say about Aerowhell oil? Order was part of an order on a day which you promised a discount. Apparently non of the items qualified.

Great service as always. What I found interesting was that it was cheaper to order by the quart then by the case. But if you order a case worth they will send it to you in the case.

Lycoming recommends SAE 40 between 30°F. to 90°F. They do not recommend SAE 50 until Above 60°F. Continental skips recommending SAE 40, listing conditions to use SAE 30 and warmer conditions to use SAE 50. Thats a shame. For decades Ive been using Aeroshell SAE 40 in my T210 from November to April. I have had the benefit of being based in mild central and southern California. SAE 40 works great, in my opinion, in the cooler months of the year.

Good oil but selling 6 in a box instead of 12 in a case is annoying.
