A sagging or torn headliner can make even the nicest airplane look unattractive and worn out. Headliners are actually quite inexpensive and easier to replace than many pilots realize. The headliners are professionally manufactured and every headliner set comes with complete instructions. Available in Excell stretchable vinyl or wool. Specify fabric type and color as noted below the chart. Headliners are special order & non-returnable. |
Headliner came a lot faster than anticipated. Took less than 2 months. Its a great fit and mine was well sown. Lots of excess material to trim. I got the wool liner and the fabric doesnt stretch too easily, not is it prone to rip.
The wait was worth it, a great item
Looks great, now comes the install
I will rate this item as a 5 for packaging and time of delivery from order date. To have you manufacture and ship within the time quoted was fantastic. The packaging with good covering and a plastic bag to eliminate moisture is most appreciative. We will have to wait for the availability of a hanger for installation so I can not rate the product at this time. Thank you and I am looking forward to a new headliner in this 170B that I enjoy flying.
Aeronca 7Ac Vnl Off-White Headliner
I purchased a Grey Wool headliner for my 1960 Cessna 182C. I am impressed with the quality of the fabric, not thin and very strong. The only thing was the size of panel 2 and 3(coming forward from the back they seem to be slightly long. Forward of that is a perfect fit. I have not steamed it yet but I am sure those two panels will tighten right up. If they do I will upgrade to 5 star.
The spacing of the headliner bows is different then the measurements that I was sent.
The only down side to this order is the fact that they do not advise you of the wait time to have your head liner sewn and ready to ship. They give you a shipping date but need to include the disclaimer for the production side of the sale, They have been very nice on the phone.
I was disappointed after waiting a month for this headliner. The package was damaged enroute....it looked like it had been set up against an exhaust pipe and had some charred burn marks. That was not Spruces fault, but the shippers. The headliner had black dog hair all over it, right off of the roll, which wasnt very appealing to me. After talking to Spruce, I said I couldnt wait another month for a replacement, so they knocked off 25% and I went to work minimizing the burn marks on the liner. It is very nice material, but had a few puckers sewn into the seams which dont want to smooth out. Not a bad headliner, but not the best Ive seen either.
After waiting months for this I was somewhat disapointed. The zipper was not centered, there were severalPuckers sewn into it that you cant stretch out. Good quality material

The tan headliners are wool. These are sold as pre-sewn fabric envelopes only. No adhesive, or any other attaching parts are included.
Yes, the gray headliners are wool. There are no real advantages or disadvantages of either. Vinyl may be a tad easier to clean. Other than that, it's basically just like you said, personal preference on look and feel.
Yes. The headliners would be cut from the same pattern regardless of material.
Yes, a burn cert will be included with each headliner.
