For
Cessna C-172-210s, except for the C-177. Prevents the wind from popping
your doors open and provides an added measure of security against break-ins. No tools or STC required. From outside the aircraft, the pilots door is locked by reaching through the window ( prior to closing it) and pushing down the door safety handle. Then, slip the Plane Lock over the window sill and lock the window shut. Note: The Plane Lock will not work with the modified bubble window for photography. |
The Plane Lock does NOT fit bubble windows!
The Plane Lock
High quality and exactly as described.
I originally purchased this as a temporary measure to secure the left door of our R182, while awaiting a new door clutch assembly but I see its value as an additional security measure and will continue to use it regardless of how well the new clutch works.
Its still a little too big for my 210A even with the shim. But its working for now and Im going to make a thicker shim for my thin doors. Other than that it will do the job nicely!

Yes, this set includes wire and 2 keys. It works on Cessna 172-210, except 177.
We looked at one here and it looks to us that it hooks on to the window and holds the door latch so it cannot be opened, kind of like a club. We do not think that it can be used during flight.

This set ships with wire and 2 keys. No, extra keys are available from the manufacturer. You would need to get the keys duplicated by a locksmith.
