Reviews

So far so good. Yeah, it takes a basic knowledge of soldering and the ability to follow a (very basic) wiring diagram, i.e., green-to-green, red-to-red, etc. And the use of an ohmmeter would help to make sure the wires are what you think they are. But if you follow the directions to a tee (including the ear pads and type of earcups!) then this works really well. Tested them in a helicopter and they provide comparable noise reduction to my A20s, at about 1/4 of the price. Would buy again.

I have installed one of these kits previously. I have an advanced soldering station to get it done - soldering skills are definitely required. It was nearly impossible to keep the ear seals on which keep the speakers in place. The foam had a tendency to push the assembly out. So i just put a dab of two part epoxy on each side to secure the assembly - a small dot on both sides - no need to cover a big area. Epoxy can be cut later with a heated up knife. Performance wise, you cannot beat the value for performance- they work really well. A friend of mine with hearing aids could not use the ANC feature due to severe noise interference, but that may be common to a lot or all ANC... I just purchased two more sets, one for myself for a second DC 13.4 conversion and one for a friend.

The noise-canceling system works very well and compares favourably with the active noise canceling headsets, especially for the price. The downside is getting replacement cables, namely the power cable. No one seems to carry them other than Headsets Inc. It is US$16 for the cable, and US$35 for postage to the Toronto area. In my case, the conductor is broken internally in the moulded plug to the power pack. Trying to fabricate a repair is not feasible. I have to replace the cable
