MATCO mfg proudly announces a new six inch wheel and internal caliper brake assembly designed for the LSA market --the WI60. This six inch wheel with a 1.25 tapered roller bearing was designed specifically for use where a narrow profile six inch wheel is required. The WI62 is identical to the WI60 but uses 0.75 inch tapered roller bearings. Dimensions The WI60 is a six inch wheel with a 4.1 inch width with an additional 1.1 inch caliper spacing. Bearing spacing is 2.43 inches and axle spacing is 1.2 inches. The total weight of this wheel and brake assembly is 5.8 pounds. The bearing axle diameter is 1.14 inches. A 1.0 inch spacer is available (model FI600) to provide additional bead seat spacing when required. The WI62 wheel & brake is identical but uses a 0.75 inch diameter axle. Features The WI60 is centrifugally cast utilizing a 535.2 aluminum alloy for superior strength and corrosion resistance. This alloy provides a light weight wheel and affords many years of efficient performance. The WI60 has a 1.25 tapered roller bearing which is rigorously tested and designed to resist bearing fatigue providing a long bearing life. (specify the WI62 where 0.75 bearings are required) This wheel features our new five inch I Series single piston brake assembly for excellent braking dynamics and easy brake maintenance allowing a brake reline to be done in a few minutes. This wheel is designed to use the increasingly popular 4.00-6 tire and tube but wider tires can also be used. The WI60 can be used in conjunction with a bolt on axle, the A3 axle, for ease of installation. The A3 axle is manufactured using a 2024-T351-T4 alloy and is 4.75 inches in length. The WI62 can use the WHLA8 tubular axle assembly for socket type installation or with the optional WHLA8BASE to allow flange mounting. |
