Q: Are these new or rebuilt? If they are new then why is there a core charge?

The magnetos listed on this page are in Factory New condition.

Q: Why is there a core charge for a new part?

Kelly Aero has asked that a core / exchange charge be associated with purchase even on new magnetos. In order to receive credit, Kelly asks for the magnetos that are being replaced to be sent in for a refund of the core charge. This is in line with the core charge associated with the purchase of the new Slick mag series.

Q: Are Kelly magnetos a direct substitution for Slick magnetos? For instance could I use a Kelly without modification if I wanted to replace say a Slick 4330?

Yes the Kelly version would be a direct replacement for the Slicks.

Q: Is a Slick core acceptable for return?

They will accept 4300/6300 mags as cores.

Q: Does this magneto require its own maintenance manual or does it use the Champion documentation?

Kelly aerospace has a manual for these magnetos that they will be publishing soon. Because the ES magneto is FAA-PMA approved based upon the Slick 4300/6300, the Champion manual can be used for general installation guidance as the process is identical between the two magnetos. But, 500 hour maintenance and overhaul should use the Kelly ES manual.

Q: Does the ES4333 come with the impulse coupling and gear?

ES4333 will come with the Impulse coupling only. The gear has to come from your original magneto.
