Perfectly overhauled, all parts included and operation after install was flawless. Only had to adjust RPM and idle mixture and little. Would order again. Good price.
10-4893-1 Overhauled Marvel Schebler Carb
So far, so good. No leaks, engine starts good. Was surprised to learn that the studs for mounting carb heat box, do not come with the rebuilt carburetor. Information was that those studs are an airframe part. The only place the studs are illustrated is in the Engine IPC and they are attached to the carburetor, with a P/N. Not a problem. Removed studs from removed carburetor for use on this s/n. All good!
The rebuilt carburetor was promptly received and included gaskets. Most importantly the rebuilt carburetor performed perfectly. It solved a long term issue with the previous carburetor as verified by a recently installed engine monitor. Even though my old carburetor had been rebuilt some time ago it never did perform as well as expected. Purchasing an exchange carburetor with all the current updates and flow tested was a bargain. Core charge has already been returned.
The Product and quick delivery were fine However I am still awaiting my Core Credit.
Outstanding workmanship, swap out simple, everything was in Box !!!
OH carb arrived promptly, was correct. I returned the core and was credited promptly. Great service, competitive price.
Quick and easy ordering and prompt delivery. You helped this first-time carburetor buyer feel confident I had the right choice and shipped it immediately. Thanks.
A top quality rebuilt product.
Carbs are great, excellent quality. Whatever you do, order BOTH gaskets. Got one today, had the wrong carb to intake gasket and no carb to heat box gasket. I had ordered the carb to heat box gasket cause the discription said the carb would come with the upper but a maybe on the lower. GUESS WHAT, it had been shipped with the wrong upper gasket! Called Marvel and they said the gaskets were a bonus so would not expedite a replacement. Carolyn @ Spruce steped up to a quick ship cause shes awesome. So a word to the wise! Also be sure you pull your studs for the heat box. And this little tool will make your life enjoyable cause if you try to use the 2 nut method, better order a 100 nuts! https://www.toolsid.com/performance-tool/1-4-1-2-stud-collet-extractor-mpn-w83203.html
Aircraft Spruce has the cheapest and most efficient carburetor exchange available. The new one came properly packaged with everything lock-tite and sealed as needed. Removing some of the screws to add accessories (carb temp, fuel metering, etc) were very difficult but good to know theyre not coming off.

Rebuilt units are torn down, and all parts are replaced to new spec. An overhauled unit is the unit torn down and only certain parts, not all, are replaced, but still inspected to new unit specs. The work is done by Marvel-Schebler.
Per the supplier: They will be shipped with an 8130 form which will include the EASA number on it.
Per the supplier: Rebuilt and overhauled MSA carburetors are supplied with the engine side mounting gasket. When the air box mounting gaskets are available, we include them. However, they are not always included.
When we receive a core, our returns department does a visual of the unit to make sure the unit is complete, and if it is, we credit the core back to the customer. Generally from the time we issue credit and the amount is funded back to the customers bank account is 5-7 days. The credit memo will have a note that states we are crediting the core amount, under the assumption the unit is in overhaul-able condition. Once the manufacturer receives the unit, it is fully dis-assembled and inspected. If a structural part of the unit is broken, housing, bowl, etc., the replacement cost will be billed to the customer at that time.
Yes, they are actually overhauled by Marvel and marketed as Tempest carb.
The core does have to be the same part number for full credit. The vendor may offer partial credit for a non-like core but it would depend on the part number of that core.
The -1 shows compliance with service bulletin MSA-7, and indicates the carburetor is equipped with the fuel atomizing nozzle. The fuel atomizing nozzle is the most current design nozzle for the 10-4894-1 carburetor.
Yes that would be an acceptable core.
The carburetors found on this page are overhauled by Tempest.
All MSA carbs come with a domestic 8130-3 included. Export 8130, if required, must be requested at checkout.
