Flight Plan Transfers The WiFi Gateway enables flight plan transfers from a pilot’s phone or tablet using apps like ForeFlight that use the GPX, FPL or ERT export format. In the future, native EFB integration (i.e. ForeFlight’s “send-to”) will be available allowing even easier transfers to the EFIS. ADS-B In In addition to making flight planning easier on the iEFIS, the iEFIS Gateway adds another party trick in the way of wirelessly accepting information from GDL 90 compatible WiFi ADS-B Receivers like the Stratus 3 or Stratux, and repeating it to the iEFIS. This means that if you already have a device such as the echoUAT connected to your iEFIS, it’s easy to replace that connection with the iEFIS Gateway, then connect the Gateway to the echoUAT via WiFi and enjoy the same capability as before with the added benefit of flight plan uploading. Wireless Firmware Updates The WiFi Gateway accepts firmware updates via WiFi, allowing for quick and easy updates when new features are added. Simply download the firmware update file to your laptop or smart device, open the gateway’s home page on your browser, and upload the firmware file using the provided buttons. |
