Overview

STC provides for the installation of two Concorde RG-380E/53L or RG-380E/60L, fitted with temperature sensors TS-C1B, in place of the original equipment nickel cadmium batteries.

Concorde recombinant gas (RG® Series) valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries for engine starting, emergency / essential power, and standby power applications are constructed with cutting edge Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology. Concorde's VRLA-AGM batteries are well known for quality and their ability to perform reliably in hot & cold climates with superior engine starting performance and excellent charge acceptance.Concorde’s proprietary PolyGuard® Microporous Polyethylene Separator shields the positive plates against shorting, shock or vibration. No other manufacturer offers this dual layer insulation protection feature.

Main Battery Upgrade – Marathon 9914058-6 (24V, 44Ah) is replaced with either RG-380E/60L (24V/48Ah) or RG-380E/53L (24V/53Ah).

RG-380E/53L is a fire resistant powdered coated aluminum container & cover with side vent tubes. Temperature Sensor mounting pad in front, fabric lifting straps and hold down bar on the cover.

Description of the RG-380E/60L Aircraft Battery:

RG® Series batteries ship HAZMAT EXEMPT RG-380E/60L is housed in a fire resistant aluminum powder coated container with polypropylene side vent tubes and a temp sensor mounting pad. Concorde Temperature Sensors are available. Cover of powder coated aluminum with stainless hold down bar and fabric lifting straps.

Specifications

  • STC provides for the installation of two Concorde RG-380E/53L or RG-380E/60L, fitted with temperature sensors TS-C1B, in place of the original equipment nickel cadmium batteries.
  • 1) Install TS-C1B on each Concorde battery.
  • 2) Aircraft fitted with Cessna Washer P/N 5538330-35 may require slight
  • modification to washer in order to allow for proper fitment with the Concorde battery hold-down bar as detailed in the STC.
  • 3) Batteries are drop-in replacements installed in accordance with the Cessna 680 Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
  • STC includes two TS-C1B temperature sensor kits.
