Exhaust Wrap is an innovative way to create more horsepower and reduce under-hood temperatures. The original Exhaust Insulating Wrap was developed over 25 years ago by Thermo-Tec. Wrapping headers maintains hotter exhaust gases that exit the system faster through decreased density. Increased exhaust scavenging is produced, along with lower intake temperatures. Exhaust Insulating Wrap withstands continuous heat up to 2000°F, and contains no asbestos. Thermo-Tec exhaust wrap will not over-insulate a system when properly installed due to a proprietary coating developed by Thermo-Tec - Thermal Conduction Technology (TCT) - that conducts heat across the wrap's surface. This coating controls heat build-up and dissipation. |
Thermo-Tec 1X15 Exhaust Wrap
Im using the Thermo-Tec 2 Exhaust wrap for my Rotax 912a. It keeps the exhaust temps up which helps in exhaust performance and helps slow any Shock Cooling at the weld areas temp zones on the exhaust as well. A very economic way to increase performance and also keep hot exhaust pipes insulated from plastic cowlings. Great Product! M. Shear www.palmstopinesgliding.com

Thermo-Tec 2X50 Exhaust Wrap
Thaks the thermo-tec already arrived
I applied this to my Cessna 150M exhaust per instructions however, the EGT temps on my EDM-700 zoomed about 100-150 degrees hotter than normal. I removed the portion of wrap from the cylinder down to about 2 below the EGT temp probes next flight the EGT temps went back to normal. The remaining wrap goes to where the exhaust leaves the cowling. Since I had to remove so much wrap from the cylinder down to the EGT probe, I cannot tell if the wrap is really effective in reducing temps under the cowling.
