Intake gasket SL71973 a good replacement for Lycoming gasket 71973, my mechanic and IA recommended it. The gaskets are working for me. A one time use gasket.

My first cylinder install and went very well, though, I recommend buying new nuts along with the cylinder purchase. Difficulty installing rocker arms transferred over from old piston, but prevailed. Insure you have Manufacturers Overhaul manual in your mind before doing and have available.

It is cork. We have them in silicone, part number 08-01314.
