I have had my Echelons for 20 years without complaint, failure or discomfort. I think they are the best on the market for the price.
Works great, comfortable, good headset for a student pilot. Can hear clearly in a Skyhawk.
Have 2 pair and have never had any problems whatsoever. When I get in my airplane I have my headset on at least 3 hours and the headset is very comfortable. Volume control works great and when I bought my headset I also bought 2 more mic covers and they are still in the bag. Product holds up very well.
Solid and reliable headset. I have another that is 10 years old and still going strong. This new one is a Christmas present for myself.
much more confortable that David Clark soft an not too heavy
Definitely a great value. The mic seems a bit narrow in frequency range. Maybe a bit too sensitive also. Need to keep the mic away from your lips. But, for the money, who can complain?
Telex Echelon 20 Headset Dual GA Plugs
Bought two as my first headsets. PROS: Good value, good mic (ATC often comments how clear my TX are), very comfortable, ear foams seal very well around my glasses. CONS: Mic booms become loose as plastic ball joint wears. Cheap foam mic cover tears easily. Also, one of my two sets requires very precise position of mic from mouth to pick up sound well. The other set is fine. SUMMARY: Great value, but get used to pushing the mic boom back to your mouth if you pull even light g's.
