I use my older ICOM handheld in my 1938 J-3 Cub. Was looking for a replacement battery and they are pricey. Saw this battery case in Aircraft Spruce catalog, ordered and received last week. Battery case was as described, It fit perfectly and it will give me the flexibility that I wanted. I can use rechargeable AA batteries or regular AA. Thanks much. I would recommend this product.

I Purchased Two of these for my pair of vintage RADIO SHACK HTX-202 VHF TRANSCEIVERS. And They match and work perfect. I purchased rechargeable Batteries for these packs and I am using them on these radios. Also what I Like about these packs that you can also use Regular Batteries,that no other packs that i have came across has this feature. if there is a power failure and there is no way to charge your Batteries. Fits my Icom IC-2AT, seems to be built to the same toughness as the radio itself. The colors match and I now have a working HT! Some concern that it outputs ~10volts (with freshly charged Ni-Mh) when the radio appears to be designed for 8.4v). The old power pack used 7 Ni-Cad cells.

Theres a design flaw with the number of cells it holds... I noticed that when I keyed up the mic to transmit the Battery warning would come on meaning low voltage. Even with freshly charged batteries a couple of uses and the warning would come on. I assumed that I had a bad cell(s) or they werent fully charged, but the cells checked out perfect for NiMH batteries. Taking apart the factory Icom battery pack and it was obvious. The original factory battery holds 10 NiMH cells whereas this one only holds 8. The reason for the low voltage warning. Eight of 1.5v standard alkaline batteries will supply enough voltage to satisfy the low voltage warning. Dont know how long they will last and definitely DO NOT try and charge them!

The thing works. Build quality is just so-so. I have to use my file to get it fit to an DELCOM handheld.
