Replace your old S-Tec trim switch with Cygnet's direct replacement switch. The switch is fully compatible with S-Tec and other trim control systems. Cygnet's switch uses two single-pull-double-throw toggles, the same as the S-Tec version, for straightforward replacement of existing switches. Cygnet's switch is machined from aircraft grade aluminum, eliminating cracking and breakage associated with the OEM plastic switches.
Includes switch assembly and 2 mounting screws. |
Bought this as a replacement for my electric trim switch in my 1971 Piper Cherokee PA28 180F. Unfortunately, it does not fit in the yoke mount. Hassle-free return process with ACS.
Trim Switch CA3112-G
Worked fine as a trim replacement switch for the round original switch Just had to modify the mounting plate to accept square switch this was on a pa 28 181
Trim Switch CA3112-G
If it fits in the yoke it is one of the best options available
Trim Switch CA3112-G
Solid, well built
Trim Switch CA3112-G
I am extremely satisfied with the switch, just south of 400 dollars is insanity. I realize it says airplane on the package but at 90 dollars it would be windfall profit. This is highway robbery. Somewhat like the time I paid 25 bucks for an 8-32 machine screw with a gasket on it, in that instance I was sent four more knocking it down to 5 bucks a screw ..but really???!!!
Depending on the yoke this is not a drop in. As long as it fits in the yoke, physically, this is a great switch. The OEM S-Tec that fell apart in my hand on my 1971 plane is a much physically smaller switch (plus not as deep). Operationally this switch works great.
We use this trim switch in conjunction with the Garmin autopilot installations in Pipers , Cessnas and Beechcraft planes. It appears to have high reliability and ease of installations although some yokes are too small to accommodate it and require a self fabricated stand off plate.
Bought it for my cherokee with STec-50. The previous one had a round cylinder type mount with a simple nut to tighten. This one is square and does not fit in a round hole. We had to reengineer the previous hole a lot to get it to fit. Then the two little screws that came with it required drilling new holes in the base, and they ended up being so short that they did not fit though the base the switch was mounted on. A simple replacement ended up taking a couple days to make it work. Only used this product because we could not find anything else to use. It works, but was expensive and trouble to install.
