High density pins fit into "high density" sub D connectors. Basically a higher number of pins in the connector. They are smaller and have a lower amp rating.
There are different tools for different gauge wire.
11-04435 22-28 gauge
11-16736 20 gauge (plastic)
11-04432 20 gauge (metal)
