Whelen Aerospace Technologies (WAT) provides the highest performance lighting system for the Orion 550 Series products incorporating both the WHITE flashing Anti-Collision light, and the Tail Position light functions. State of the art LED circuitry is built in to eliminate the need for separate flasher boxes for operation. The footprint, and mounting, are identical to legacy Whelen products for ease of installation and retrofit. FAA/TSO |

Per Whelen: We do not have a lumens spec, the output for the 01-0772070V01 is to meet the TSO-C96a Class II anti-collision light spec which is 400 Effective Candle Power and the Navigation light is rated at a TSO-C30c requirements for a white tail navigation light.
The power draw is identical to the ORION 500 Series. The main difference is the overall size of this light and that it has a much shallower heat sync in the back so it can fit all of the legacy products footprint.
Yes, this light is FAA TSO Approved.
Yes the Orion 550 will fit onto a Mooney M20J. We have added the drawing to the Documents section of the web page for download and review.

No special cable needed. Simple 18 awg wire is all that is required.

We have no data supporting this items use in automotive applications. It is intended for aircraft install.
There are separate power wires for the navigation and anti-collision lights, so it could be wired separately.
